The LSU Tigers were selected to host the Baton Rouge Regional as the 16th overall seed of the 2026 NCAA Softball Tournament.

Visiting Tiger Park is Virginia Tech, South Alabama, and Akron.

Friday, May 15

Game 1: Virginia Tech 6, South Alabama 0

Virginia Tech scored four in the third via a grand slam off the bat of Kylie Aldridge to lift the Hokies to a first-round win.

Zoe Yeager drove the other two runs for the Hokies on a solo home run and RBI single.

Bree Carrico earned the win, allowing just two hits in four innings of work. She struck out three and walked two.

Presley Lively had two hits for South Alabama.

Game 2: LSU 8, Akron 0 (6 inn.)

Jayden Heavener led the LSU Tigers to a win on Friday, tossing six innings and allowing zero runs on three hits. She struck out 11 and gave up three walks.

Kylee Edwards was 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, two runs scored and three RBIs. Alix Franklin homered and Sierra Daniel was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored.

Avery Hodge also had two hits for the Tigers.
