The New York Liberty (22-15) may be closer to full strength ahead of their big matchup with the high-powered Indiana Fever on Saturday.

Wing Leonie Fiebich is officially listed as questionable to return from a foot injury that has sidelined her since prior to the All-Star game and center Jonquel Jones is also listed as questionable with a left ankle injury, per the Liberty's injury report.

This season hasn't gone according to plan for the seventh place Liberty, who have been one of the WNBA's strongest units in recent years. The injury bug has plagued the Liberty this season after losing sharp shooter Sabrina Ionescu for a period earlier in the season, and now forward Satou Sabally who hasn't competed since June 23 due to lingering concussion symptoms.

Both Fiebich and Jones are key pieces in the Liberty's rotation and should provide a much needed spark against a red hot Fever team should they be good to go.

Leonie Fiebich Would Match Up Well With Fever's Talent

If the Liberty can get a healthy Fiebich back against the Fever, it can certainly jump start a much needed winning stretch.

Fiebich is solid at guarding along the perimeter. In fact, without Fiebich in the rotation, New York's defensive rating is at an unimpressive 110.8 but is noticeably better with her on the floor at 104.3, according to StatMuse. Her versatility combined with her 6-4 stature and outside shooting creates elite floor spacing, which is imperative against the Fever.

Indiana has the best backcourt duo in the WNBA in Caitlin Clark and Kelsey Mitchell, and Fiebich gives New York the best chance defensively along the perimeter. She also gives the Liberty someone who can efficiently switch up across multiple positions and disrupt passing lanes - a key to success against a Fever team that can swiftly move the ball around.

Jonquel Jones Would Give Liberty Needed Interior Presence

Jonquel Jones' resume speaks for itself and she's certainly made a name for herself as a member of the Liberty. One thing she gives them that stands out the most is her size and presence inside the paint. As one of the league's most dominating forces one the interior, Jones' possible return could create a nightmare scenario for the Fever who as of Friday, have listed star center Aliyah Boston as questionable with a lower leg injury.

Jones' rare floor spacing ability also gives New York solid inside-out shooting, creating another threat for opposing defenses. The Fever haven't been known as the league's strongest rebounding team and should Jones be good to go it could keep the Fever's bigs on their heels.

Ultimately, both player's returns will be up to head coach Chris DeMarco and the team's performance staff, but a questionable status should still point to good signs at the most critical time of the season. Especially with both players saying they are planning to give it ago against Indiana at Barclays Center.
