New York Mets v Washington Nationals

New York Mets knuckleballer RA Dickey has signed on with Penguin's Dial Books for Young Readers to create three children's books, two of which will be released in the next two years, according to a report Thursday afternoon from Publishers Weekly.

The first book will be released fall 2013 and will be a children's adaptation of his March 2012 book, Wherever I Wind Up: My Quest for Truth, Authenticity and the Perfect Knuckleball. It received praise from Sports Illustrated, The New York Times and ESPN but the book touches upon some sensitive subjects at certain points, including a part about child abuse and his suicidal thoughts as an adult, so it will be interesting to see how he converts it into a book that's suitable for children.

The second will be a picture book scheduled for release spring 2014 and its working title is Knuckleball Ned. He will also pen a third picture book but a release date and other details about that book are not available at this time.
