Jaguars reportedly finalizing terms with Falcons exec Dave Caldwell

The Jacksonville Jaguars are finalizing terms with Falcons player personnel director Dave Caldwell to become their new general manager, according to Jay Glazer of Fox Sports.

Caldwell took his name out of contention for the New York Jets GM job, according to Glazer.

Caldwell is finishing his first season as the Falcons' director of player personnel, working directly with general manager Thomas Dimitroff after spending four seasons as the team's director of college scouting. Caldwell's NFL resume also includes 10 years as a scout for the Indianapolis Colts.

Caldwell may draw on his past history working with Mike Mularkey -- the former Falcons offensive coordinator -- when it comes to deciding Mularkey's future as the Jaguars head coach.

If the Jaguars fire Mularkey, the NFL Network's Albert Breer suggested Caldwell might favor hiring 49ers offensive coordinator Greg Roman.
