Corey Webster takes a $3 million pay cut to stay with Giants

Giants cornerback Corey Webster took a $3.25 million pay cut to stay with the team, reports the NFL Network's Kimberly Jones. Webster started all 16 games last season but put up disappointing numbers. He was a candidate to get cut as the team tries to clear salary-cap space.

Webster, 31, will be in the final year of his contract this season and was due $7.25 million in base salary. He accepted a base of $4 million instead. Webster was drafted by the Giants in the second round (43rd overall) of the 2005 draft and has spent all eight years of his NFL career with the team. Last season, he had 58 total tackles and four interceptions.
