New York Jets coach Rex Ryan says Mark Sanchez will be the starter come training camp, but the other quarterbacks on the roster will have a chance to compete for a spot.

Ryan said the team needs to get better at that position and that Sanchez's spot as the starter is not guaranteed.

"The first snap, he'll be the guy running out there first," Ryan said of Sanchez, via ESPN.com."But there's going to be competition at that spot, there's no question about it."

The Jets brought in David Garrard, who hasn't played since 2010, to compete with Sanchez. And there is always the question about backup Tim Tebow.

"He's on the roster, and he'll get a chance to compete," Ryan said about Tebow. "We'll see how the offseason plays out, but right now Tim is on our roster."
