Tim Tebow clears NFL waivers, becomes free agent

Tim Tebow officially became an unrestricted free agent after clearing NFL waivers Tuesday.

None of the 31 other NFL teams claimed the quarterback after the Jets placed him on waivers Monday. The 2007 Heisman Trophy winner from Florida is now free to negotiate with any team.

Tebow reportedly has already received offers from the Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League, the Omaha Beef, a Nebraska indoor league team and the Lingerie Football League.

Tebow attempted just eight passes and rushed for 3.2 yards per carry during his lone season with the Jets. The Jets traded for Tebow after he quarterbacked the Broncos to the 2011 playoffs.
