John Abraham, Titans could have contract deal done by end of week

Free agent defensive end John Abraham and the Tennessee Titans could come to agreement on a contract by the end of this week, ESPN.com's Adam Schefter reported on Monday.

Abraham, who turned 35 on Monday, stirred speculation that he was considering retiring after sending some cryptic-sounding tweets out last weekend, but that speculation was quickly debunked in a report on NFL.com.

Since his release from the Atlanta Falcons, Abraham has made visits to the Denver Broncos, New England Patriots, and Seattle Seahawks.

Abraham played in all 16 games last season, but cut back on his in-game workload in an attempt to stay healthy for the entirety of the season. He finished the season with 10 sacks and six forced fumbles.
