Dolphins delay Jonathan Martin meeting at NFL's request

Miami Dolphins owner Stephen Ross will delay meeting with offensive guard Jonathan Martin until the NFL's independent investigator, Ted Wells, has had a chance to speak with him for their inquiry into if Martin was bullied by suspended tackle Richie Incognito, the team announced Tuesday.
The meeting between Ross and Martin was supposed to happen on Wednesday. Ross said he has been in contact with Martin and vowed to make changes throughout the organization following the the NFL's investigation.
"Ted Wells and the National Football League have asked that we delay our meeting with Jonathan Martin until they have the opportunity to meet with him," Dolphins chief executive officer Tom Garfinkel said in a statement. "Out of deference to the process, we will cooperate with their request. We look forward to meeting with Jonathan as soon as possible."

Martin left the team Oct. 28 and hasn't returned but remains on the Dolphins' active roster. He went to California to get treatment and hired prominent lawyer David Cornwell, who said that Martin was harassed by multiple players, including Incognito.
