New England Patriots running back Shane Vereen will be active for Monday night's game, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Vereen has not played in a game for the Patriots since injuring his wrist in the team's season opener against the Buffalo Bills. Vereen has been with the team for three years and is expected to contribute to their running back platoon of Stevan Ridley and LeGarrette Blount upon his return.

Vereen is expected to have a light workload his first few games, until the team is comfortable he is back to form.
