Panthers' Charles Johnson leaves game with knee injury

The Carolina Panthers defense suffered a key loss in part of its Monday night battle with the New England Patriots, as defensive end Charles Johnson left the game with an apparent knee injury. But Johnson returned late in the fourth quarter.
Johnson, who leads the team with 8.5 sacks this season, was carted off the Panthers sideline to the locker room after what looked like an ugly hit in the third quarter. He limped off the field after he was hit in the leg by Patriots guard Marcus Cannon.
Despite what looked worse on the field, he was officially listed by the Panthers as questionable to return. He could be seen riding a stationary bike on the Panthers sideline later in the second half.
