Shayanna Jenkins, the girlfriend of former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, is accused of lying to a grand jury nearly 30 times, reports Travis Andersen and John R. Ellement of the Boston Globe.

Prosecutors say in new court documents that Jenkins lied during testimony in August about only seeing one gun in her house and about a confidentiality agreement and issues related to the people who cleaned her house. They also say that Jenkins lied about not remembering where she left a large box Hernandez allegedly told her to dispose of.

Jenkins has pleaded not guilty to perjury after being indicted for the charge in September.

Hernandez, 24, is currently in jail held without bond awaiting trial accused of killing Odin Lloyd, a 27-year-old semipro football player who was dating Jenkins' sister.

More from the Boston Globe:

According to prosecutors, however, Jenkins lied about conversations she had with Hernandez when he called her on June 18 from his attorney’s office at the firm of Ropes & Gray in Boston and instructed her to remove items from the house, McCauley wrote.

She also lied about why she removed the items, her lack of knowledge of those objects, and how she got rid of them, according to McCauley.
