MLB great Hank Aaron sent his support to Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman in a tweet on Tuesday.
Aaron's message to Sherman came after the shutdown corner became the subject of nationwide discussion for his explosive post-game interview following the NFC Championship game.
Sherman addressed the interview - in which he called out 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree and declared himself the best corner in football - in a first-person column for The MMQB on Monday.
"I don’t want to be a villain, because I’m not a villainous person," Sherman wrote.
.@RSherman_25 - hang in there & keep playing as well as you did Sunday. Excellent job - you have my support.

Sherman later responded to the tweet to thank the former home run king for his encouragement.
