The National Football League has had "active and serious discussions" about moving the Pro Bowl to Arizona next season, reports NFL.com's Ian Rapoport.

Next year's Super Bowl will be played Feb. 1 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz, with the Pro Bowl scheduled to be played the week before the game.

The Pro Bowl has been played at Aloha Stadium in Honolulu since 1979, with the exception of one year when it was played at Sun Life Stadium in Miami in 2010.

The league's All-Star game went through a major overhaul this past season after instituting a draft for players selected for the game and making rules changes to make the game more competitive.

A team led by captain Jerry Rice beat a Deion Sanders-led team 22-21 in this year's game.
