Take it from one of Michael Vick's former teammates with the Philadelphia Eagles: Vick should win the New York Jets' open quarterback competition rather easily.

Eagles running back LeSean McCoy told the New York Post on Monday he expects Vick to beat out Geno Smith for the starting job in New York. The reason is simple: Vick is "way better."

“[Vick] is going to be the starting quarterback this year," McCoy said at a team-sponsored charity event, according to the Post. "He's way better than Geno Smith. Way better. That's no contest."

The Jets signed Vick to a one-year, $5 million contract earlier this offseason, and they have said he will compete with Smith for the starting gig.

For his part, Smith has said he still expects to be the team's starting quarterback, despite a rookie campaign that saw him put up a whopping 25 turnovers. But for McCoy, the only question is whether Vick stays healthy.

"That's the big question, and that's the only thing," McCoy said. "The thing here was, he didn't lose his job — he just got hurt and lost his job to injury. But as far as who's the better quarterback, he's way better than Geno Smith. That's obvious."
