Newt Gingrich says NBA should sell Clippers back to the city

Since NBA Commissioner Adam Silver's handed down a lifetime ban on Los Angeles Clippers owner Donald Sterling, there have been plenty of reports on how the Clippers should move forward.

Earlier on Thursday, the NBA released a statement expressing that the NBA owners want to act quickly to remove Sterling from owning the team.

Now, via Twitter, former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Newt Gingrich, has weighed in on the Clippers.

Gingrich is no stranger to controversy. In 2012, a campaign speech from Gingrich raised eyebrows when he said if he was meet with the NAACP he would tell them, "the African American community should demand paychecks and not be satisfied with food stamps."

The Gingrich camp responded to the comments by sending out an email that said Gingrich’s NAACP comments were an effort to reach out to the African American community.
