Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez leaves game with finger inflammation

Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez left Wednesday night's home game vs. the Giants with what's being described as left index finger inflammation, according to a tweet from the Denver Post's Nick Groke.

The two-time All-Star did not come out to start the eighth inning, instead having his spot in left field filled by Brandon Barnes. The 28-year-old is considered day-to-day and will likely have further tests done on Thursday. He was 0-2 with a walk before leaving the game.

In the same game, Giants pitcher Matt Cain exited in the fourth inning with what's being diagnosed as a strained right hamstring.
