The Baltimore Orioles announced Thursday that they sent right handed pitcher Tommy Hunter to the 15-day disabled list because of a left groin strain, according to the team's Twitter account.

The move is retroactive to May 21, and he will likely be sidelined for up to three weeks.

Now in his third year with Baltimore, the 27-year-old has a 6.06 ERA and 1.84 WHIP in 16 and 1/3 innings this season. He has recorded 11 saves this year but has also blown three, including two in his last four mound appearances.

In a corresponding move, the Orioles also announced that they recalled RHP Preston Guilmet from Triple-A Norfolk.

Baltimore is currently behind the Yankees and Blue Jays with a 23-21 record in the AL East heading into Thursday night's home game against the Cleveland Indians.
