Colorado Rockies outfielder Carlos Gonzalez will have exploratory surgery on his left index finger on Tuesday, the team announced.
Gonzalez was placed on the 15-day disabled list by the Rockies on Friday with inflammation in the finger. The three-time Gold Glove winner missed a large part of the 2013 season with an injured finger on his right hand.
The left fielder has eight home runs and 31 RBI with a .255 average this season.
The Rockies also announced pitcher Eddie Butler and outfielder Michael Cuddyer were placed on the 15-day disabled list on Monday.
