Liverpool's midfield starlet Ryan Kent is set to be offered a new contract to keep him at the club amid growing interest from Premier League Bournemouth and Championship Leeds, according to reports in the Sun.

The report suggests that Kent is attracting interest following an impressive loan spell at Barnsley this season.

Eddie Howe is said to have made personal contact with Liverpool about his availability for loan next season, while Garry Monk has gone a step further and has already opened negotiations to sign the youngster permanently.

The 20-year-old has two years left on his deal at Anfield, but Jurgen Klopp and the Anfield hierarchy are supposedly keen to lock him down for the long-term.

Kent, who plays as a winger, had a spell on loan at League One Coventry last season and has made over 30 appearances for Championship Barnsley this term, where he has scored twice and assisted twice,

The England U20 man also made his Liverpool debut in January 2015, when he started against Exeter in the FA Cup.

The youngster has already been recognised on the international front, where he was a key part of the England Under-18 side during the 2013/14 campaign.

Kent has since gone on to represent his country at U20 level, scoring once in six appearances.
