Two of the Premier League’s new managers will conduct a tactical battle from the St James’ Park touchline on Sunday, with Andoni Iraola’s Liverpool journeying across England to face Mathias Jaissle’s Newcastle United.

Both head coaches are making their competitive debuts with their new sides, although Iraola, of course, boasts vast Premier League experience following several years with Bournemouth. Jaissle, however, has never managed in England before, and is tasked with steadying the ship after a tumultuous summer for the Magpies.

Matches between Newcastle and Liverpool often produce fireworks and entertainment is projected for the opening round battle. Uncertainty engulfs both sides at the beginning of new eras and that could result in a dramatic, end-to-end affair on Tyneside.

Here’s how supporters can tune into the action.

Newcastle’s absence from European competition means they’re in Carabao Cup action midweek, hosting second-tier West Bromwich Albion on Wednesday. They then visit Tottenham Hotspur the following weekend.

Liverpool have a free midweek to recover from their St James’ Park trip, after which they will take on Oliver Glasner’s Nottingham Forest in next Saturday’s early kickoff.
