Which Sunderland players have the best shooting accuracy this season?

Given the injuries that Sunderland have had to their strikers this season, they certainly haven't struggled for goals.
In fact, Sunderland are one of the top scoring teams in the Championship heading into Monday's game against West Brom.
When you watch them, though, it does feel to the eye at least that the Black Cats don't really hit the target as often as they should. Perhaps that is unfair, though, given only seven Championship clubs have had more shots on target so far this season.
So, we took a look at the individual player stats to see which players were finding the target and which were not, and there were definitely a few surprises in there.
Just click through the gallery to see who, starting with the most wasteful, what the shooting accuracy of the Sunderland players is like so far this season.
Note: only players who have attempted more than ten shots this season have been included.
Alex Pritchard has a couple of goals to his name this season against Huddersfield and Millwall, and he is statistically Sunderland’s most creative player too. When it comes to shooting, though, the former Norwich man is really struggling this season. He has attempted the most shots of all Sunderland players (32) and found the target with just six of them. That’s an accuracy rate of a fairly dismal 18.8%.
Dan Neil was told by Tony Mowbray last week that he needs to add some aggression to his game to reach the next level, but his shooting isn’t especially impressive either. Just 23.1% (3) of Neil’s thirteen shots this season have found the target.
Ellis Simms is Sunderland’s joint top scorer with five goals, and that’s either very impressive or not actually good enough. The on-loan Everton man has his five goals from just eight shots on target. Considering he has attempted 27, you have to wonder how many he would score if he was hitting the target more than just 29.6% of the time.
Patrick Roberts has found himself out of the Sunderland starting line-up of late because he is struggling to match Amad Diallo’s product. Roberts has a couple of goals to his name, both in the same game, but probably should be doing better given his talent. Roberts has hit the target with 6 (31.6%) of his 19 shots this season.
The most surprising thing about Corry Evans’ role in this list is not that he has a greater shooting accuracy than the likes of Ellis Simms, Patrick Roberts and Alex Pritchard, but that he has actually amassed 15 shots so far this season. Granted, none of them have gone in yet, but he has hit the target with 33% (5) of them.
Elliot Embleton is a bit of an enigma. Unquestionably one of Sunderland’s most naturally gifted footballers but where does he fit in? He has attempted 24 shots this season and hit the target with a respectable 37.5% (9) of them.
Tony Mowbray was initially bemoaning Amad Diallo not shooting enough, but it’s fair to say he has ditched any reluctance to shoot that he once had. Amad Diallo has attempted 20 shots, hit the target with eight of them (40%) and scored four goals. Quite impressive.
No Sunderland player has more goal involvements than Jack Clarke. He has scored four goals and made six assists and been generally superb ever since he made that initial loan move from Tottenham permanent. Only Alex Pritchard has attempted more shots than Clarke’s 30, and he has hot the target with 40% of them.
Despite Ross Stewart missing two thirds of Sunderland’s game this season with injury, no player has had more shots on target (12) than the Scotsman. That is astonishing. Even more remarkable is that only Clarke and Pritchard have had more shots (27) than Stewart too. His importance is further underlined by a team-leading 44.4% shooting accuracy. It’s great to have him back.
