Amad Diallo is now a target for Leicester City, reports Daily Mail.

Diallo's loan move will forever be remember as one of the better, if not the best loan move that Sunderland have pulled off in their modern history.

The Ivorian left as a firm fan favourite after netting 14 times in the 2022/23 Championship season, with his goals helping to fire the Black Cats to a surprise top six finish.

Tony Mowbray's side are obviously keen on a return and Fabrizio Romano revealed not so long ago that Diallo would prefer a return to Sunderland should he be loaned out again this summer.

But more and more teams continue to be linked with the 21-year-old, with Sunderland's Championship rivals Leicester City the latest team to be creditted with an interest in the Manchester United man.

Time to move on?

A return for Diallo has always looked unlikely, but never impossible.

Diallo did so well with Sunderland that the Black Cats will always have a chance of bringing him back, no matter how unlikely or how many teams might be showing an interest.

But his next season won't be decided until later in the summer with Diallo part of United's pre-season preparations.

Though there might come a time when Mowbray's side have to move on and pursue other targets.

Leicester could be a more attractive Championship destination than Sunderland given how well they're expected to do next season.

The Foxes are one of the favourites for the title as things stand and they're making some impressive signings, so United would no doubt view Leicester as a very attractive destination for Diallo.

Again though, nothing is ruled out until Diallo's next move is confirmed.
