Former Sunderland loan man Edouard Michut becomes surprise target for Championship side

Former Sunderland loan man Edouard Michut has been linked with Leeds United.
Michut spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Sunderland. The 20-year-old midfielder went on to feature 25 times in the Championship, showcasing a lot of talent after a slow start to life on Wearside.
There was a lot of speculation about whether or not the Black Cats would sign Michut on a permanent deal when his loan from PSG came to an end, but Sunderland eventually decided against signing the midfielder.
Now though, Fabrizio Romano is saying that Leeds United are among the club eyeing a deal for the youngster and that a deal will depend on conditions decided by PSG in the coming days.
Michut was a very technically-gifted player who really grew into the Sunderland side, coming into contention when injuries began to plague Tony Mowbray's side.
He scored once during his time at the Stadium of Light.
Michut back to England?
Michut's time at Sunderland will have given clubs in the Champisonhip a lot to mull over.
He certainly showed a lot of talent and there definitely seems to be a player with bags of potential there, but in the end a move didn't come about.
Leeds though could be a very attractive destination for Michut and playing in a Daniel Farke side could yet bring the best out of Michut who is a very technical midfielder.
There's still improvements to be made, but if Leeds signed Michut this summer then they'd be signing a very prosperous player, and Michut would be joining a Leeds side with Premier League ambitions going into next season.
But expect more sides to be keen on a move for the youngster, so a move isn't cut and dry just yet.
