Sunderland star Jack Clarke is the target of growing Premier League interest as we head towards the summer transfer window.

Clarke's 2022/23 season has caught the eye of several Premier League sides. Fabrizio Romano recently revealed that Sunderland have received offers from all of Brentford, Burnley, and Crystal Palace for Clarke, who scored nine and assisted 12 more in the Championship last season.

And in a recent interview with iNews courtesy of Freebets, Clarke's agent - former Leeds United and one-time Sunderland defender Ian Harte - had his say on Clarke's summer ahead and on the emerging interest in the former Spurs man.

Harte said:

“Jack loves it at Sunderland and he’s got three years [of his contract] left. Of course I can’t control what other clubs are going to do. If other clubs contact Sunderland that’s unfortunately out of my control."

Sunderland boss Tony Mowbray has previously said that he's a fan of the selling model that many Championship clubs adopt - selling their more valuable assets and reinvesting the money back into the side.

No price tag has been put on Clarke's head as of yet, but Spurs paid an initial fee of £8.5million for Clarke in 2019.

Harte continued:

“I think every player, no matter what league you’re in, has a price and no matter what club you’re at if a club is happy with it they’ll take it."

Clarke remains under contract at the Stadium of Light until the summer of 2026 and so Sunderland aren't really under any pressure to sell him in this summer's transfer window.

But like Harte suggests, Sunderland could yet receive an offer which matches their valuation of Clarke - whatever that might be - and the 22-year-old could be sold on.

It'd be a tough one for Sunderland to take, but selling players is part of being a Championship team and part of building towards the Premier League.
