Corry Evans: I'd pay to watch Sunderland because the football is that good

Corry Evans says he would pay to watch Sunderland if he had to because of the quality of football they have produced this season.
Evans has been a crucial player in Sunderland’s return to the Championship, and he was in fine form before his season was ended by serious injury.
That has given him a chance to reflect on the future, though, and he signed a new contract to extend his stay until the at least the summer of 2024.
He said that it is was a ‘no-brainer’ to commit his future, largely due to the quality of players that the club has attracted in the last year or so.
“I'm really excited about the team and the club,” Evans told safc.com. “The last year and a half since I joined it's gone up another level again and I think you see its potential and what it could be.
“I mean, the team as well, the football, I just love watching the boys playing. Some of the football we're playing at the minute, and have been over the last 18 months, it's been unbelievable.
“It's a team that fans would pay to come and watch. If I wasn't a player I'd probably pay to go and watch as well because it's that good.
“We've still got a long way to go this season, but it's just one game at a time and we'll see where we end up come May.
"We've done well so far and we're in a great position at the moment. There's still a lot of football to be played and hopefully we can keep the momentum we've got and carry it through to the end of the season.”
