Sunderland star a summer transfer target for Premier League side Crystal Palace

Sunderland winger Jack Clarke is a summer target for Premier League side Crystal Palace, according to latest reports.

Clarke has had a fantastic season for Sunderland, scoring 10 goals and contributing nine assists so far.

He was involved in all four Sunderland goals in the 4-4 draw against Hull, scoring one himself, assisting two others and winning a penalty as well.

That form has apparently not gone unnoticed, with journalist Alan Nixon reporting Crystal Palace are considering him as a potential summer replacement for Wilfried Zaha.

Zaha is out of contract in June and does not like he will be renewing terms at Selhurst Park, forcing the Eagles to consider alternatives.

Clarke is not the only Sunderland player who Palace have been tracking either. They have a long-standing interest in midfielder Dan Neil, although he is currently considered a year or two away from Premier League level.

It is a different story with Clarke, though, with his impressive production levels in the Championship highlighting him as a player Premier League clubs believe could step up immediately.

Clarke joined Sunderland from Tottenham last summer in a deal worth around £4million following a successful loan spell in League One.
