Lexie Hull's Breakthrough Performance Points to Good Signs for Fever
The Indiana Fever wrapped up a five-game road trip in Chicago on Sunday night beating the Sky 113-90.
What was even more encouraging to see was the offensive boost they received from Lexie Hull, who finished the game with 14 points and shot an impressive 75% from the field. Hull joined in on the Fever's record setting night from beyond the arc draining 2-of-3. More notably, the Fever were a +25 with Hull on the floor.
This efficient night was certainly big for Hull, who has had a quiet season offensively. But for a player like her, who continues to stay ready and has unwavering drive, it was only a matter of time before she would have her breakthrough moment. Her offensive woes are due in large part to a decrease in shot attempts per game this season, but despite this, Hull recognizes the key to coming out of a slump.

"It's all about staying ready. Getting the opportunity, getting open looks, knocking them down. You never know when your night's going to come. You never know when you're going to get open looks, but being confident and ready to knock them down and I'm just happy with how it turned out tonight," Hull said.
History Shows a Lexie Hull Bounce Back is Inevitable
Many can recall the team's unexpected run in last season's playoffs. That success was due in large part to Lexie Hull, who after a slow start to last season, broke the door open following the All-Star break. Fast forward to 2026, and we're seeing many of the same parallels in terms of her overall statistics.
For instance, during the 2025 season there was a positive correlation between an increase in Hull's minutes and points per game when comparing the first and second half of the season. Her points per game averages doubled from 4.6 in July to 9.5 in September. That as she was playing about eight more minutes a night.
Hull averaged 10.3 points per game in the 2025 postseason.
Despite the Fever's roster seeing vastly different circumstances last season (injuries, roster rotations, etc), these numbers still show that she tends to peak during the second half of the season. Or more specifically, in Hull's case, a slow start doesn't negate a strong finish.
Hull has proven repeatedly that she can fit into any role where she is needed. And the Fever's lineups with her on the floor have thrived even though she hasn't produced a ton individually on the offensive end.
In the team's recent win over Chicago, Hull played a season high 26 minutes, which undoubtedly lit the spark for her scoring performance. Should history repeat itself, there's strong reason to believe that this will be the start for a more confident and dangerous Lexie Hull to emerge.
