Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick was fined $22,050 for unnecessary roughness during the team's game against Arizona Sunday, reports Jay Morrison of Cox Media Group.

Kirkpatrick tackled the Cardinals' Ted Ginn Jr. during a punt return. He was fined because the hit struck Ginn in the head and neck area.

Last season, Kirkpatrick was fined $7,875 for an unnecessary roughness penalty resulting from a facemask.

The cornerback joins a list of several other players who have recently been fined by the NFL, including Peyton Manning (for taunting), Johnny Manziel (for flipping off the Washington bench), Haloti Ngata (for kicking a player) and Taylor Lewan (for unnecessary roughness).

Washington safety Brandon Meriweather was recently suspended for the first two games of the regular season after an illegal hit on the Ravens' Torrey Smith.
