2024 NFL Mock Draft: Updated 4-Round Projections for Combine Week

As the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine kicks off this week, here's an updated look at how the first four rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft could turn out.

There's so such thing as a true offseason in the NFL, and we've arrived at yet another tentpole event on the league calendar this week, the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine.

This week's massive job interview will give more than 300 prospects in the 2024 NFL Draft class the opportunity to show off their skills in a series of various drills and workouts, as well as the ability to meet with teams and get medical evaluations that could be equally important to their draft stock as their on-field performance.

As this year's event kicks off from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis this week, here's an updated look at how the first four rounds of this year's draft could turn out:

*projected trade

1. Chicago Bears (from CAR)

Caleb Williams | QB | USC

USC quarterback Caleb Williams

All signs continue to point toward the Bears spending this pick on Williams, and finding a trade partner for Justin Fields. Even after an up-and-down 2023 campaign, Williams still showed off the rare skills that make him the kind of quarterback prospect you just can't pass up. For the sake of this mock exercise, we're having Chicago send Fields to the Atlanta Falcons for a second-round pick this year, and a conditional second-rounder in 2025.

2. Washington Commanders

Jayden Daniels | QB | LSU

LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels

Sam Howell has had his moments, but nothing that should keep the Commanders from spending this pick on an elite quarterback prospect. Both Daniels and Drake Maye are worthy of this spot, but Daniels has every bit of Maye's potential as a passer, and brings rare explosiveness and big-play ability as a runner that just can't be matched.

3. New England Patriots

Drake Maye | QB | North Carolina

North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye

While it's possible the Pats could take Marvin Harrison Jr. here, or even trade down, it's hard to imagine them passing up the last remaining top-tier quarterback in this class. Maye had some roller-coaster moments last season, but he's still got top-level arm talent, and brings underrated athleticism as a runner that can challenge defenses when he breaks out of the pocket.

4. Arizona Cardinals

Marvin Harrison Jr. | WR | Ohio State

Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

This is the ideal scenario for the Cards, who desperately need a true No. 1 receiver for Kyler Murray. Even in this year's loaded receiver class that features three elite prospects, Harrison is in a league of his own. It's unfair to compare any prospect to a Hall of Famer, but Harrison has all the tools to join his dad in Canton someday.

5. Los Angeles Chargers

Malik Nabers | WR | LSU

LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers

Don't count out an offensive lineman here, but the Chargers have a pair of aging receivers (Keenan Allen, Mike Williams) who have struggled with injuries, and also carry the two largest cap hits of any wide receivers in the NFL this season. After spending last year's first-round pick on Quentin Johnston, Nabers would give Justin Herbert another young pass-catcher with big-play ability and upside on a rookie contract.

6. New York Giants

Rome Odunze | WR | Washington

Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze

After three straight quarterbacks, the Giants make it three straight receivers off the board. This offense needs a top target with a complete skill set, and Odunze would be the perfect fit. He's a smooth route-runner who excels at the catch point, and doesn't need a ton of separation to come down with any throw that gets near him.

7. Tennessee Titans

Joe Alt | OT | Notre Dame

Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt

Outside of 2023 first-round pick Peter Skoronski, the Titans need to rebuild their entire offensive line. That overhaul needs to start with a new franchise left tackle, and this scenario gives Tennessee the opportunity to pick from any of this year's top prospects at the position. Even at just 20 years old, Alt has the polished skill set that would make an immediate impact.

8. Atlanta Falcons

Terrion Arnold | CB | Alabama

Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold

After acquiring Fields in our scenario, the Falcons are freed up to spend this pick on their defense, where they have multiple needs. The biggest is for a top-shelf edge rusher, but it wouldn't be surprising to see new head coach Raheem Morris fall in love with the most complete corner in this year's class. Arnold checks every box, and is worthy of a top-10 pick.

9. Chicago Bears

Dallas Turner | EDGE | Alabama

Alabama edge defender Dallas Turner

If the top three receivers are off the board here, the Bears would be a prime trade-back candidate. If they stay at this spot, though, targeting another explosive edge rusher to pair with Montez Sweat would make a ton of sense. Turner has an impressive blend of athleticism and versatility, and put up big numbers in his first year as a full-time starter.

10. New York Jets

Olu Fashanu | OT | Penn State

Penn State offensive tackle Olu Fashanu

If the Jets want to avoid another serious injury to Aaron Rodgers, they'll need to improve the offensive line in a big way this offseason. The biggest need is at tackle, where they're able to land a high-upside prospect here. Fashanu could have been a fairly early pick last year, but should be even more pro-ready after another year of experience at the college level.

11. Minnesota Vikings

J.J. McCarthy | QB | Michigan

Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy

Even if Kirk Cousins returns, the Vikings might still be looking for a more long-term solution at quarterback in this year's draft. McCarthy wasn't tested much as a volume passer in Michigan's run-heavy offense, but he just turned 21 years old, and has shown enough flashes of brilliance that would make him the ideal sit-and-develop candidate behind Cousins.

12. Denver Broncos

Bo Nix | QB | Oregon

Oregon quarterback Bo Nix

If the fourth quarterback comes off the board ahead of Denver, they could go into panic mode if they haven't found a viable starting option in free agency to replace Russell Wilson, whose departure seems like a foregone conclusion. Nix does bring the kind of experience and efficiency that Sean Payton would covet, even if it feels like a bit of a reach at this spot.

13. Las Vegas Raiders

Nate Wiggins | CB | Clemson

Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins

The early run on quarterbacks leaves the Raiders shifting gears and waiting until Day 2 to address that need. Instead, they look to a long list of need areas on defense, starting with the most premium position at corner. Wiggins has ideal height and length for the position, as well as the ball skills and instincts to be a big-play magnet whenever the ball comes his way.

14. New Orleans Saints

Taliese Fuaga | OT | Oregon

Oregon State offensive tackle Taliese Fuaga

Derek Carr struggled to live up to his hefty contract in his first season with the Saints, but any quarterback would have had a hard time behind this offensive line. Tackle must be addressed this offseason, and a deep class at the position should give New Orleans some solid options here. Fuaga was a dominant force for the Beavers last season, and would be an instant upgrade.

15. Indianapolis Colts

Brock Bowers | TE | Georgia

Georgia tight end Brock Bowers

The fall finally stops for Bowers, who is easily a top-10 prospect in this class from a pure talent perspective, but could tumble a bit if teams picking higher opt for more premium positions. If he lands with the Colts, Bowers would give Anthony Richardson yet another dynamic weapon in the passing game who can create serious matchup problems for opposing defenses, and make big plays after the catch.

16. Seattle Seahawks

Troy Fautanu | OL | Washington

Washington offensive lineman Troy Fautanu

This pick is the perfect combination of need and value, as the Seahawks desperately need to bolster the interior of their offensive line, and don't have to look far for the ideal fit. Fautanu played tackle for the nearby Huskies, but could be an even more dominant force at the next level if he slides inside to guard.

17. Jacksonville Jaguars

Quinyon Mitchell | CB | Toledo

Toledo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell

Missing out on Fautanu would hurt, but the Jags still have plenty of other needs to address, and some quality talent still on the board at those positions. One of them is corner, where they need another stud to pair with Tyson Campbell on the outside. Mitchell already had stellar film and production for the Rockets, and followed that up with a fantastic week at the Senior Bowl.

18. Cincinnati Bengals

JC Latham | OT | Alabama

Alabama offensive tackle JC Latham

Some defensive line help wouldn't be surprising here, but the Bengals have to err on the side of giving Joe Burrow everything he needs to keep the offense firing on all cylinders. That means finding an upgrade at right tackle, and this year's loaded class should give them a worthy candidate. Latham has the size, athleticism, power, and experience against top competition to be the ideal fit.

19. Los Angeles Rams

Jared Verse | EDGE | Florida State

Florida State edge defender Jared Verse

Aaron Donald is still one of the NFL's most dominant interior defenders, but the recent departures of Von Miller and Leonard Floyd have left the Rams without an impact player coming off the edge. Verse is a well-rounded prospect with plenty of polish who would make an immediate impact with his ability to rush with both speed and power, as well as setting the edge against the run.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers

Amarius Mims | OT | Georgia

Georgia offensive tackle Amarius Mims

It's hard to imagine the Steelers spending first-round picks on offensive tackles in back-to-back years after going three decades without doing it at all, but it could (and maybe should) happen. What Mims lacks in polish and experience, he makes up for with rare physical traits for the position, and he would pair well with former Bulldog teammate Broderick Jones.

21. Miami Dolphins

Jackson Powers-Johnson | OL | Oregon

Oregon offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson

Free agency will obviously have a huge impact on where the Dolphins' biggest remaining needs will be come April, but one of them could be center, and they could be in position to land this year's top prospect at the position. Powers-Johnson has the athleticism, physicality and smarts to plug right into the starting lineup and be a perennial All-Pro.

22. Philadelphia Eagles

Chop Robinson | EDGE | Penn State

Penn State edge defender Chop Robinson

Philly could go in one of many different directions here, but you can never have too many talented pass rushers. Robinson still needs some polish, and he may lack the complete skill set and run-defense skills of some of the other top edge rushers in this class, but he's got rare explosiveness that gives him a ton of upside.

23. Houston Texans (from CLE)

Byron Murphy II | DL | Texas

Texas defensive lineman Byron Murphy II

One of the most up-and-coming rosters in the league still has a few glaring holes, particularly on defense. One of them is for a disruptive interior defender who can blow up running plays in the backfield and flush opposing quarterbacks out of the pocket. Murphy might be undersized, but he's exactly what the Texans need to take this unit to the next level.

24. Dallas Cowboys

Graham Barton | OL | Duke

Duke offensive lineman Graham Barton

Depending on what happens in free agency, the Cowboys could be looking for help at multiple spots along the offensive line. That being the case, versatility should be high on their priority list when looking for top prospects with their early picks, and Barton has the ability to line up anywhere in the trenches. Though he's got plenty of experience at tackle, he projects best as an interior blocker at the next level.

25. Green Bay Packers

Cooper DeJean | DB | Iowa

Iowa defensive back Cooper DeJean

Green Bay needs help at both levels of the secondary, so why not target a player who can line up anywhere in the defensive backfield? One of the most versatile and athletic players in the entire draft, DeJean can line up on the outside or in the slot at corner, as well as on the back end at safety. He also brings added value as a big-play threat in the return game.

26. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Laiatu Latu | EDGE | UCLA

UCLA edge defender Laiatu Latu

The release of veteran Shaq Barrett was expected, and after not picking up the fifth-year option on 2021 first-rounder Joe Tryon-Shoyinka, the Bucs will need another stud edge defender to pair with rookie sensation YaYa Diaby. Latu's age and injury history could leave him on the board longer than his talent might suggest, giving Tampa Bay a potential steal if he's able to stay healthy.

27. Arizona Cardinals (from HOU)

Kool-Aid McKinstry | CB | Alabama

Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry

After landing the best player in the entire draft earlier in the round, Arizona now looks to add a dynamic playmaker on the other side of the ball. Not since Patrick Peterson have the Cardinals had a true shutdown presence on the outside at corner, and McKinstry brings a blend of size, length, and athleticism that could allow him to make that kind of impact.

28. Buffalo Bills

Brian Thomas Jr. | WR | LSU

LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.

Stefon Diggs is still one of the best receivers in the NFL, but with the departure of Gabe Davis in free agency, the Bills will need a bigger pass-catcher who can replace his big-play ability. Thomas has a rare blend of size and speed, and the ability to challenge defenses over the top, which should be a perfect fit for Josh Allen's rare arm strength.

29. Detroit Lions

Ennis Rakestraw Jr. | CB | Missouri

Missouri cornerback Ennis Rakestraw Jr.

After an impressive run last season, the Lions have an opportunity to fill a few glaring needs and get over hump to make a Super Bowl appearance. Injuries and inconsistency plagued them at corner last season, and this year's deep class should give them a chance to remedy that with this pick. Rakestraw is tough, instinctive player who excels in press-man coverage.

30. Baltimore Ravens

Johnny Newton | DL | Illinois

Illinois defensive lineman Jer'Zhan Newton

It looks like Justin Madubuike is getting the franchise tag, but that shouldn't stop the Ravens from adding another disruptive interior defender if they get a chance to add one of the best in this year's class. Newton isn't the bigger defensive tackle, but he makes up for it with instincts and explosiveness that allow him to camp out in opposing backfields.

31. San Francisco 49ers

Tyler Guyton | OT | Oklahoma

Oklahoma offensive tackle Tyler Guyton

The 49ers fell just short of the ultimate prize yet again, and they've got some clear-cut needs to address if they want to go all the way next time around. Right tackle is the weakest link on the roster right now, and this scenario gives them a chance to add a high-upside prospect in Guyton, whose experience on the right size and impressive movement skills for his size make him the perfect fit for Kyle Shanahan's offense.

32. Kansas City Chiefs

Darius Robinson | DL | Missouri

Missouri defensive lineman Darius Robinson

There are obvious needs on offense (left tackle, wide receiver), the long-term futures of Chris Jones and L'Jarius Sneed could have the Chiefs looking for defensive help here instead. In this scenario, they opt for another versatile trench defender in Robinson, who has the power and athleticism to be the ideal understudy for Jones, if not his outright replacement.

SECOND ROUND

Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr.

33. Carolina Panthers

Keon Coleman | WR | Florida State

34. New England Patriots

Jordan Morgan | OT | Arizona

35. Arizona Cardinals

T'Vondre Sweat | DL | Texas
