2024 NFL Mock Draft: Post-Free Agency 4-Round Projections with Trades

See how some blockbuster trades could impact the first four rounds of the 2024 NFL Draft.

The free agency frenzy has slowed to a crawl, and the biggest dominoes of the offseason have all fallen at this point, setting the stage for the final push toward the 2024 NFL Draft.

Big-name signings and a handful of trades have had a seismic impact on team needs that's sure to be reflected in the early rounds of the draft, while plenty of picks have already changed hands, and could be setting the stage for more blockbuster deals as we get closer to draft weekend.

As the dust continues to settle from free agency, here's an updated look at how the first four rounds of this year's draft could turn out:

*denotes projected trade

1. Chicago Bears (from CAR)

Caleb Williams | QB | USC

USC quarterback Caleb Williams

Now that Justin Fields has finally been traded, we can go ahead and etch this one in stone. The Bears had a full contingent present for Williams' pro day workout Wednesday (including newly acquired wide receiver Keenan Allen), and he's fully expected to be their new franchise quarterback come next month.

2. Washington Commanders

Jayden Daniels | QB | LSU

LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels

Even without getting the top prize in this year's quarterback class, Washington still can't go wrong here with their choice of consolation prizes. Daniels and Drake Maye both have franchise traits as passers, but it's Daniels' game-breaking speed and big-play ability as a runner that could set him apart for the Commanders.

3. New England Patriots

Drake Maye | QB | North Carolina

North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye

This is an extremely rare class in which a third QB-needy team can still land an elite prospect who in any other year would be the slam-dunk No. 1 pick. Maye has a big arm and deliver the ball with authority to every level of the field, can escape the pocke and extend plays when necessary, and has limitless upside if the Pats can be patient.

4. Arizona Cardinals

Marvin Harrison Jr. | WR | Ohio State

Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr.

This is where teams might start calling to move up for the next-best quarterback on the board, but while the Cards might listen just in case they get an offer they can't refuse, the easy money is on taking Harrison. He's a complete receiver with immediate superstar potential, and fills Arizona's biggest need on offense.

5. Minnesota Vikings (from LAC)*

J.J. McCarthy | QB | Michigan

Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy

When the Vikings acquired an extra first-round pick in this year's draft from Houston earlier this offseason, it became clear they were loading up to make this kind of move up the board for a quarterback. Dealing the No. 23 pick to move up from No. 11 is more than worth it if McCarthy hits his lofty ceiling and develops into a franchise passer.

6. New York Giants

Malik Nabers | WR | LSU

LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers

If the top four quarterbacks are already off the board, the Giants will have to give Daniel Jones another year to live up to his hefty contract. Giving him a true No. 1 receiver would be a huge help, and similar to the quarterback class, this year's receiver crop features a rare trio of elite talents. Nabers' elite explosiveness and big-play ability gives him the nod over Rome Odunze here.

7. Tennessee Titans

Joe Alt | OT | Notre Dame

Notre Dame offensive tackle Joe Alt

Odunze is tempting here, but especially after giving big money to Calvin Ridley, the Titans have to spend this pick on a franchise left tackle. Alt has all the polish and pro-readiness you'd expect from the son of a Pro Bowl tackle, even at just 20 years old. He'd be an immediate upgrade protecting Will Levis' blind side, and should be a perennial All-Pro long-term.

8. Atlanta Falcons

Dallas Turner | EDGE | Alabama

Alabama edge defender Dallas Turner

Landing Kirk Cousins in free agency means the Falcons can focus on defense with their top draft picks, starting with this one. Atlanta desperately needs a high-upside edge rusher with elite explosiveness and athleticism, and Turner is the perfect fit. His versatility and lofty potential should make him the first defensive player off the board.

9. Chicago Bears

Rome Odunze | WR | Washington

Washington wide receiver Rome Odunze

Landing Keenan Allen via trade was a huge win for the Bears, but that move shouldn't keep them from spending this pick on another receiver if one of the top three prospects in this year's loaded class falls to them here. Odunze is one of the most polished and complete players in the entire draft, and would give Caleb Williams an elite trio with Allen and D.J. Moore.

10. New York Jets

Brock Bowers | TE | Georgia

Georgia tight end Brock Bowers

The Jets made multiple moves to bolster the offensive line with veterans in free agency, and even made a splash at receiver by signing Mike Williams to pair with Garrett Wilson. That should allow them to spend this pick on another dynamic playmaker for Aaron Rodgers, and Bowers is the rare tight end prospect worthy of a top-10 slot.

11. Los Angeles Chargers (from MIN)*

Taliese Fuaga | OT | Oregon State

Oregon State offensive tackle Taliese Fuaga

After moving down six spots and adding another first-round pick, the Chargers reflect their new head coach's mentality by starting in the trenches. Fuaga is a nasty, punishing blocker who could be an immediate upgrade at right tackle, or even slide inside to guard, if necessary. Wherever he lines up, he'll set the tone for the entire unit.

12. Dallas Cowboys (from DEN)*

Olu Fashanu | OT | Penn State

Penn State offensive tackle Olu Fashanu

Letting Tyron Smith walk in free agency has left the Cowboys with a gaping hole at left tackle. Even in a loaded tackle class, Fashanu's talent and upside are worth dealing a second-round pick to jump ahead of a ton of teams who would love to land him. Denver needs additional picks after the Russell Wilson debacle, and they could get better value targeting a second-tier quarterback prospect later in the round.

13. Las Vegas Raiders

Quinyon Mitchell | CB | Toledo

Toledo cornerback Quinyon Mitchell

Instead of reaching for a quarterback here, the Raiders are better off seeking value at another position of need, and seeing how the rest of the QB talent starts to come off the board. Mitchell already had the film and production, but then he dominated Senior Bowl week and the NFL Scouting Combine, cementing himself as the top corner in the class.

14. New Orleans Saints

JC Latham | OT | Alabama

Alabama offensive tackle JC Latham

Derek Carr struggled to live up to his lofty contract during his first season in New Orleans, but it's hard to expect much from any quarterback behind a struggling offensive line. Massive upgrades are needed, and massive is exactly what Latham brings to the table, along with impressive movement skills for his size.

15. Indianapolis Colts

Jared Verse | EDGE | Florida State

Florida State edge defender Jared Verse

After re-signing Michael Pittman Jr. to a long-term extension, the Colts can focus on addressing any number of their defensive needs here. The secondary needs help at both levels, but if they're able to land a polished and well-rounded edge rusher like Verse at this point in the draft, they'd be better off bolstering the defensive backfield on Day 2.

16. Seattle Seahawks

Troy Fautanu | OL | Washington

Washington offensive lineman Troy Fautanu

I can't stop putting this pairing together, because the fit is just too good. Seattle desperately needs help at guard, and while Fautanu played tackle for the nearby Huskies (and he could absolutely stay there at the next level, if that's what his team needs), he might be even more dominant if he slides inside at the next level.

17. Jacksonville Jaguars

Brian Thomas Jr. | WR | LSU

LSU wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr.

Losing Calvin Ridley is a huge blow for Trevor Lawrence and the passing game, even with the addition of Gabe Davis. Adding another high-upside pass-catcher with big-play ability should be a top priority for the Jags, and Thomas brings a rare blend of size and speed that would create matchup problems for opposing defenses.

18. Cincinnati Bengals

Johnny Newton | DL | Illinois

Illinois defensive lineman Jer'Zhan Newton

After signing Trent Brown to replace Jonah Williams at right tackle, the Bengals might pass up an offensive lineman here in favor of adding a disruptive playmaker to the interior of their defensive front. Newton might be a bit undersized, but he makes up for it with explosiveness that will remind Cincy fans of Geno Atkins.

19. Los Angeles Rams

Jackson Powers-Johnson | OL | Oregon

Oregon offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson

There are plenty of needs on both sides of the ball for the Rams, but they'd be wise to start with the guy who touches the ball on every play, and sets the tone for the entire offense. Powers-Johnson checks every box from both a mental and physical standpoint when it comes to elite center play, making him well worth a top-20 pick.

20. Pittsburgh Steelers

Terrion Arnold | CB | Alabama

Alabama cornerback Terrion Arnold

Powers-Johnson would have been a strong fit here, but with him off the board, the Steelers should take advantage of the fact that only one corner has been picked so far. They need another talented cover man to pair with Joey Porter Jr. on the outside, and Arnold brings a well-rounded skill set, impressive instincts, and big-play ball skills.

21. Miami Dolphins

Byron Murphy II | DL | Texas

Texas defensive lineman Byron Murphy II

Christian Wilkins is gone, leaving behind a massive hole in Miami's defensive line. They need an explosive interior defender who can replicate Wilkins' disruption and knack for creating big plays in the backfield, and despite his lack of ideal size, Murphy has the burst, power and athleticism to be the ideal replacement.

22. Philadelphia Eagles

Chop Robinson | EDGE | Penn State

Penn State edge defender Chop Robinson

You can never have too many talented pass rushers, so it wouldn't be surprising if the Eagles took another one here. Robinson may not be the most well-rounded edge defender in this draft (his run defense needs some work), but he might have the most explosive first step of any prospect in this year's class.

23. Los Angeles Chargers (from CLE via HOU, MIN)*

Adonai Mitchell | WR | Texas

Texas wide receiver Adonai Mitchell

Cutting Mike Williams and trading away Keenan Allen saves the Chargers a ton of salary cap space, but now they're missing Justin Herbert's top two targets. With the additional first-rounder they got for trading out of the top 10, they'd be wise to dip into this year's loaded receiver class to land an explosive big-play threat like Mitchell.

24. Denver Broncos (from DAL)*

Bo Nix | QB | Oregon

Oregon quarterback Bo Nix

Trading down from the No. 12 spot netted Denver a much-needed second-round pick, and in this scenario, they're still able to land their quarterback of the future without reaching quite as much. Nix might not have the elite upside of this year's top passers, but his combination of experience and efficiency would be a great fit for Sean Payton.

25. Green Bay Packers

Cooper DeJean | DB | Iowa

Iowa defensive back Cooper DeJean

Signing Xavier McKinney in free agency was a huge win for the Green Bay secondary, but they still need more playmakers across that unit. DeJean has the athleticism and versatility to line up anywhere in the defensive backfield, and his big-play ability in the return game gives him even more value at the next level.

26. Kansas City Chiefs (from TB)*

Amarius Mims | OT | Georgia

Georgia offensive tackle Amarius Mims

The Marquise Brown signing should allow the Chiefs to be patient and wait for value at receiver on Day 2 thanks to an extremely deep class. The most glaring need at this point is a long-term solution at left tackle, and while Mims hasn't played a ton of snaps, his physical tools and upside are worth sending a late third-round pick to Tampa Bay to jump up and secure his bright future.

27. Arizona Cardinals (from HOU)

Nate Wiggins | CB | Clemson

Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins

Arizona landed the best player in the draft and filled their biggest need on offense with Harrison, and now they have a chance to make add another playmaker for the other side of the ball here. Wiggins has ideal height and speed for the position, and his ball skills would give the Cardinals a playmaking presence they haven't had on the outside since Patrick Peterson.

28. Buffalo Bills

Xavier Worthy | WR | Texas

Texas wide receiver Xavier Worthy

The loss of Gabe Davis has left the Bills in need of a No. 2 receiver who can make opposing defenses pay for rolling coverages to Stefon Diggs. Worthy's speed was well-known even before his record-breaking 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine, but his route-running skills and instincts after the catch don't get enough credit.

29. Detroit Lions

Laiatu Latu | EDGE | UCLA

UCLA edge defender Laiatu Latu

Aidan Hutchinson is already one of the most dominant edge defenders in the NFL, but the Lions need an upgrade on the other side of the defensive front. Medical concerns could keep Latu on the board longer than his pure talent might suggest, but if he's able to stay healthy, he could be a massive steal for Detroit at this point.

30. Las Vegas Raiders (from BAL)*

Michael Penix Jr. | QB | Washington

Washington quarterback Michael Penix Jr.

Speaking of prospects with injury concerns who could end up being huge steals, Penix has elite arm talent, and wins from the pocket as well as any passer in this class. It would take at least their third-round pick to jump back into the first round, but if Penix is able to avoid injury at the next level, he could take the Raiders' offense to a level Gardner Minshew and Aidan O'Connell can't touch.

31. San Francisco 49ers

Kool-Aid McKinstry | CB | Alabama

Alabama cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry

Offensive line is a strong possibility here, but don't be surprised if the 49ers opt for some defensive help here instead. A deep corner class should give them some strong options here, and McKinstry's combination of size, length, athleticism and big-play ability would make him a fantastic fit, as well as a solid value pick.

32. Tampa Bay Buccaneers (from KC)*

Graham Barton | OL | Duke

Duke offensive lineman Graham Barton

Tampa Bay drops back six spots in this scenario, adding an extra third-rounder and still ending up with the guy they probably would have taken at their original slot. Barton has the ability to play all five positions along the offensive line, and since the Bucs need upgrades at both left guard and center, they could try him out at both spots and see where he fits best.
