Dual-threat QB Lamar Jackson verbally commits to Louisville

Lamar Jackson, a four-star quarterback from Boynton Beach, Fla., announced on Twitter Sunday that he has verbally committed to Louisville.

Jackson, who also drew scholarship offers from South Carolina, Florida State and Clemson, among other programs, is the No. 11-ranked dual threat quarterback in the class of 2015, according to the recruiting website Rivals.com.

Week 1 displays college football's unpredictability; Punt, Pass & Pork

Jackson is the 15th player from the class of 2015 to commit to the Cardinals. Louisville's 2015 recruiting class is ranked No. 39 in the country, according to Rivals.

The Cardinals, which hired Bobby Petrino as head coach this offseason to replace Charlie Strong, open the season Monday against Miami.
