Ducks and Spartans on the marquee in Pac-12 this week

The Pac-12 had one of the nation's marquee games last week with Arizona State playing Texas A&M and has another this week: No. 7 Oregon at No. 5 Michigan State.

It's far from the only intriguing matchup in the big conference out West. There's another big game between teams from Oregon and Michigan and several teams looking to bounce back from a disappointing opening weekend.

A few things to look for in Week 2 of the Pac-12:

GAME OF THE WEEK: Oregon at Michigan State. This isn't just one of the biggest games of the week, it's one of the best during the non-conference season. Michigan State had two losses last season, to Oregon and Ohio State, the two teams who played for the national championship. Oregon ran away from the Spartans in last year's game, 46-27, but the rematch should be a good one with both teams ranked in the top 10.

BEST MATCHUP: Oregon State at Michigan. The Beavers opened the Gary Andersen era with a 26-7 win at Reser Stadium, but face a much stiffer challenge playing at Michigan in coach Jim Harbaugh's home debut. A big key will be how Seth Collins, Oregon State's freshman quarterback, handles playing in the Big House in his second career start.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: Oregon has gone 69 straight games with a touchdown pass, matching Texas Tech (2006-11) for the longest streak in NCAA history. ... Arizona is 10-0 in regular-season non-conference games in four seasons under coach Rich Rodriguez after beating UTSA last week. ... The Pac-12 had 150 true and redshirt freshmen make their debuts last week. ... Tom Hackett, Utah's All-American punter, hit a career-long 74-yarder last week against Michigan. ... Washington LB Victor Azeem leads the conference in solo tackles after notching 11 against Boise State last week.

IMPACT PLAYER: UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen. Talk about an eye-opening debut. The freshman quarterback burst onto the national scene in his first start, tossing one pinpoint pass after another while throwing for 351 yards and three touchdowns in a 34-16 win over Virginia. This week's opponent, UNLV, is in rebuilding mode under new coach Tony Sanchez, so it wouldn't be much of a surprise to see Rosen do it again.
