The Alabama Crimson Tide football season came to an end last Monday meaning players had to make quick decisions regarding their football futures.

Players wishing to enter the transfer portal had a five day extension from the end of the year to do so, meaning Crimson Tide players making that choice had to do so by the end of the day Saturday.

According to multiple sources Alabama Crimson Tide safety Jake Pope entered his name in the transfer portal on Saturday.

Pope was considered a 4-star recruit out of Buford High School just outside of Atlanta. The 247Sports Composite ranked him as the No. 32 safety and the No. 37 player in the state of Georgia in the class of 2022.

The 6-foot-1, 192-pound safety redshirted in 2022 but was able to get into 11 games this past season, largely as a special teamer.

He becomes the Tide's 18th player to transfer out of the program in the current cycle and the third defensive back departure.

Pope will have three years of eligibility remaining when he finds his new school.
