Wide receiver Montana Lemonious-Craig reports offer from Hogs

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — It was simply a matter of numbers that made it inevitable Arkansas would offer a transfer from Colorado.

In the mass exit of players from the program after Saturday's spring game, new coach Deion Sanders pretty much said it was going to happen.

"You all know that we're going to move on from some of the team members and we're going to reload and get some kids that we really identify with," Sanders said after Saturday's spring game. "This process is going to be quick, it's going to be fast, but we're going to get it done."

As of this being typed, the Buffaloes have seen 31 players jump into the portal in the last 10 days.

Whatever the reason, nothing sounds like Sanders did anything to try and keep some of them from leaving. No idea about any of that, but he's rolling the dice and apparently has enough contract rope to try his way and hope it works out.

Sooner or later there was going to be somebody Razorbacks coach Sam Pittman and his staff thought would be a good fit here.

Apparently that was the case with wide receiver Montana Lemonious-Craig reporting the Hogs made him an offer. He had a big spring game with three catches for 154 yards and two touchdowns as it wouldn't be surprising to find out later Sanders helped showcase some of the guys leaving.

The Inglewood (Calif.) native will have two years of eligibility remaining at his next destination.

Arkansas has already landed three new transfers at the wide receiver position this offseason, as Tyrone Broden (Bowling Green), Andrew Armstrong (Texas A&M-Commerce), and Isaac TeSlaa (Hillsdale College) each enrolled at midterm and went through spring drills with the Razorbacks.

The Hogs could use some help at the wide receiver spot because admittedly no one has stepped up to become a No. 1 receiver.
