FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas might have found one of the best options for an instant playmaker at linebacker in Keaton Thomas of Northeast Mississippi Community College. Thomas earned first team all-conference honors after recording 107 tackles, 1.5 sacks and two interceptions for the Tigers.

The 6-1, 230-pounder will be a December graduate making him eligible to transfer following the semester. After a conversation with defensive coordinator Travis Williams, Thomas plans to schedule a visit rather quickly.

“I am considering a visit here real soon,” Thomas said. “We are looking to set up a mid-week visit for this upcoming visit.”

Thomas was very complimentary of the Razorbacks coaching staff as a whole.n“Man, the [Arkansas] staff is awesome,” Thomas said. They are great human beings and great coaches, it’s just been a blessing and humbling experience to be recruited by them.”

The Hogs have been searching for linebackers following the departure of 62% of their positional production. Chris "Pooh" Paul, Jordan Crook and Mani Powell entered the transfer portal this week. Antonio Grier is likely out of eligibility due to the completion of his sixth season.

The Razorbacks have only offered one other linebacker in Sam Brumfield Middle Tennessee State. The former junior college product led the Blue Raiders in tackles this season with 81. Brumfield is currently the sixth best transfer linebacker in the class.
