Deadline Thursday for Leaving, Not New Players Joining Hogs

If anybody else is leaving team, that has to happen by Thursday and it could be sign

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — If you were expecting all the questions and concerns about Arkansas' basketball roster to be answered by Thursday, you'll have to wait at least a couple of more weeks. That's the deadline date for players to enter the transfer portal, not people coming to Eric Musselman's team.

With Jordan Walsh and Davonte Davis going through the NBA evaluation process, they have until the end of the month to make up their mind. If they return, the roster would be at 13, but who knows what could happen after that. It could provide some clues to what people the Razorbacks might be trying to land.

If nobody leaves, then the decisions from Ron Holland at Texas, Tramon Mark at Houston, Keyon Mennifield at Washington and Eli Ellis from Louisville in addition to Louisville's Jeremiah Davenport have all been generating noise on social media. Right now it's nothing but speculation and those are the four names buzzing a lot lately. Again, we might have some answers Thursday, maybe not. It could simply raise more questions.

For example, Holland hasn't been released by the Longhorns so no official-type discussions have been going on, according to what we're hearing and seeing. In the world of college athletics these days, take that however you wish but somebody is likely talked to somebody else and they'll know.

If one of those four players commits, Walsh and Devo decide they are coming back then Musselman has a numbers' issue and I have no clue what transpires if that happens. He could end up getting stuck having to keep some players he would rather replace with some transfers.

That's why I said don't expect all the answers Thursday but maybe even more questions than answers. After an already wild portal season, get ready for possibly even a lot more.
