FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — We haven't heard a peep out of Arkansas coach Eric Musselman since the loss against Kentucky on Saturday. We probably shouldn't be that shocked in all honesty. As usual, though, it has led to wild rumors.

Musselman's focused. Dealing with us these days isn't nearly of the importance as trying to figure out how to get wins. He'd probably take a win however he can get it these days. Besides, there's rumors around Davonte "Devo" Davis' announcement before the game Saturday he was stepping away and, of course, some swirl of gossip about Musselman's job status.

We never know for sure what's going on in those areas any more, which is probably the way the Hogs like it. They probably have the view they don't need us in the media anyway. The only problem is these games are on TV nowadays so everybody knows the score and coaches can either provide some insight or take what they get.

The same holds true for players. Once upon a time in galaxy far, far away we talked the players on a daily basis. It gave some insight as to what was going on. That has been gone for a few years along with seeing what's up in practices and things in football and men's basketball.

There's probably some reason for that attitude these days, but i have no idea for sure. Maybe the best speculation is they want any more distractions. Their time is so limited as it is with them.

Arkansas is a struggling team right now. Musselman has a team sitting at .500 for the first time in his college coaching career. He's searching for answers because he needs a win, regardless of who is out there on the floor.

He'll probably let fans deal with the "noise" on everything, including the comings and goings of players. Musselman will coach the guys on the floor. No sense worrying about players that aren't around.
