Auburn is in pursuit of one of the best safeties in the 2024 class.

Zaquan Patterson, a four-star safety out of Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Hollywood, Florida, has officially announced his commitment date. He will choose a school on August 26th.

The Auburn Tigers are in the mix alongside Florida State, Miami, Michigan, and Ohio State. On3's prediction machine currently has the Hurricanes as the favorite to land Patterson's services (91.3% chance). There have been no crystal balls submitted on 247Sports.

According to 247Sports' composite rankings, Patterson is the No. 77 overall player and No. 3 safety in the 2024 recruiting cycle.

The 6-foot, 185-pound safety is described as a "hard-hitting defender" that "could eventually grow into a three-down linebacker" by 247Sports director of scouting Andrew Ivins.

The Tigers have one safety committed in the 2024 class (Kensley Faustin) and are currently working with four underclassmen at the position this season.
