Auburn's 2025 recruiting class will be even better with at least one of Mississippi's top recruits included.

From communicating directly with a few of the Magnolia State's best recruits, the Tigers are bringing in some of the best. One of them is a stalwart along the trenches. It's Rivals #112 prospect in Kevin Oatis, Jr. from Hattiesburg (Miss.) High School.

Going off memory, Oatis gave some of the schools he's trying to get to this spring.

"Texas, Texas A&M, Miami, Arkansas, Florida, Florida State, Louisville, Ole Miss, and Mississippi State."

More schools were added to the list when asked about Alabama, Georgia, and Auburn.

"Oh yeah, Auburn. UGA no but Alabama probably."

Oatis is trying to line up all the dates and times. It's a lot to keep track of. The Tigers are one of the schools prioritizing Oatis.

"Coach (Vontrell) King-Williams," Oatis said of the Auburn coach recruiting him. As for how the emphasis on recruiting Oatis, Auburn made it clear that he will be a priority.

"He already said they are (going to come me hard)."

King-Williams is Auburn's defensive line coach and will be the primary person to recruit Oatis to the Plains. The defensive line is also a priority for the Tigers' 2025 recruiting efforts.

Several other top programs are also recruiting the 6-foot-3 and 281-pound defensive tackle. Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss are making Oatis a priority prospect.

When asked if Ole Miss has been recruiting him hard, Oatis didn't deny it.

"Yes sir, they are as well." There's another school that hits Mississippi hard to keep an eye on.

"Coach Davis Wants me there bad." Oatis is referring to LSU defensive line coach Bo Davis. He did well with Texas and is now coaching for LSU. It's not surprising he wants Oatis like Auburn, Ole Miss, and many other college football programs do.

Oatis is one of the rare players that's above 275 pounds and possesses the ability to bend, stop-and-start, and change directions much more like a player that's 230 or 240 pounds. Those qualities add up to why many of the nation's elite are coming after him.

Auburn, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Texas, Texas A&M, and Penn State are some of his big-time offers.

The impending unofficial spring visits for Oatis will be important as he must narrow down his list soon. Auburn is certainly making him a priority to be one of those schools. If his trip to see the Plains goes well, look for an official visit to be set with Auburn, too.
