Auburn Recruiting: Six Offensive Skill Prospects To Watch

In this story:

Auburn's recruiting efforts include 20 signees from the class of 2024 and a tremendous start to the 2025 class with eight verbal commitments.

Could the Tigers build their recruiting momentum by landing at least a few of the following prospects? Here's a look at prime offensive recruits that would give Hugh Freeze and his staff a great chance to sign a top-five recruiting class.

The following recruits are in alphabetical order.

Caleb Cunningham WR Ackerman (Miss.) Choctaw County

The #17 recruit by Rivals, he came to the Plains on Jan. 20. If the Tigers could add him to the fold, joining the tremendous wide receiver haul from this past season, it would be a coup for the Tigers.

Kiffin and Ole Miss are going all-out to land this young man. So are numerous other SEC and national recruiting powers. Let's see if he comes back to Auburn for a spring practice unofficial visit.

Akylin Dear RB Quitman (Miss.) High School

Point blank, this is my personal favorite running back in the entire 2025 recruiting class. Hard to ignore this young man's combination of speed and power. He's a prospect that will probably make an immediate impact at the Power 4 level.

From multiple sources, the Ole Miss Rebels are the team to beat. Auburn did have Dear on campus this past Jan. 23. Miami, Georgia, Mississippi State, and several other programs are coming after him hard.

Again, like with each of these young men, getting him back for as many unofficial visits to Auburn as possible is key. Auburn signing Dear would be huge for the program, especially with Jarquez Hunter heading to the NFL after the 2024 season.

Alvin Henderson RB Elba (Ala.) High School

Point blank, this is a recruitment the Tigers need to win. Henderson is high on the Auburn football program and he's been to campus multiple times. Plus, he's from the Southeastern Region of Alabama, a more Auburn-friendly recruiting section of the Yellowhammer State.

Not only does Auburn need Henderson to be a part of the 2025 class, it would be great if he's in the fold before the official visit season begins. He would be a prospect who could help bring in other top prospects from inside the state of Alabama. He's scored a combined 108 rushing touchdowns from the 2022 and 2023 seasons, according to Max Preps. Henderson deserves the respect of other prospects and it is hard to imagine him not getting it if he publicly commits to the Tigers.

Ousmane Kromah RB Leesburg (Ga.) Lee County

While a very humble young man, Kromah has good reason to gloat about his talents. Rivals certainly notices Kromah's talent as he's the 65th player in the country by their rankings. A power runner with good vision, Kromah possesses the ability to beat teams in the passing game as well.

Florida State has long since been rumored with him. Georgia, Auburn, Notre Dame, Alabama, Tennessee, and several other programs are mentioned as well, depending on when and who a person speaks with about Kromah's recruitment. From this list of recruits, Kromah's recruitment might have the most schools a prospect could sign with. He's worth the recruiting effort as he's a tremendous player.

KJ Lacey QB Saraland (Ala.) High School - Texas Commitment

There will be more data about the elite passer after the Under Armour Atlanta Camp concludes tomorrow. For now, Lacey is planning to be a Longhorn. He truly likes UT a lot and the offense it operates.

While that's the case, Auburn is one of the schools that's been after him for quite some time. It's not yet known where Lacey will visit this spring, going by face-to-face conversations with the Saraland quarterback. If he visits Auburn during spring ball, it's a sign that there's still definite interest.

Julian "Ju Ju" Lewis QB Carrollton (Ga.) High School - Southern California commitment

This young man's recruitment will be mentioned here at Auburn Daily over and over. He's arguably the best recruit in the country, so he should be. While he's committed to USC, Auburn recently hosted Lewis for a visit. Two other SEC schools are important to note as well.

Based on recent intel, UGA and Bama would be the two teams to watch. He's been to see UGA multiple times, just as an example. Auburn is definitely a contender with Lewis, but more unofficial visits would be an even better sign for AU.
