During Spring Ball, Will Auburn's Recruiting Efforts Conquer These Three Tasks?

The Tigers have a chance to supercharge their 2025 recruiting class

To sign another top-10 recruiting class, the Auburn Tigers need to conquer several tasks, with three in particular.

The Tigers hold four verbal commitments for their 2025 recruiting class. Led by a tremendous defensive line haul, it's an excellent class thus far. With Auburn's spring practice beginning today and the recruiting dead period soon to end, it's a great time for the Tigers to make major moves in recruiting.

Here are three questions that will help answer how Auburn can gain the recruiting momentum necessary to continue to recruit at an elite level and finish inside the top-10 recruiting classes.

1) Will Auburn get the truly elite local recruits to come to the Plains instead of visiting Alabama and Georgia instead?

Many recruits state they will visit several schools for spring practices. Due to time restraints, parents not being able to get off work, etc., those plans are often reduced.

Simply put, Auburn must be the program that wins out when it's only one or two unofficial visits for the in-state programs. That one unofficial visit to the Plains often leads to an official visit in the summer and eventually signing with the Tigers or whichever school gained the extra unofficial visit in the first place.

2) Will Auburn add another big-time public commitment before spring ball concludes?

There's nothing like recruiting momentum. AU adding Devin Williams is a great example. If Auburn gains a big-time commitment from a top-100 prospect, such as a player inside of On3's 2025 Industry Top Football Recruits, that would certainly help on multiple fronts.

There's the "splash" with a recruit announcing for AU via social media, plus that recruit can then help Hugh Freeze and his staff recruit thereafter. It does not need to be flipping Na'eem Offord from Ohio State or Justus Terry from Georgia, but either elite recruit would certainly create buzz for the Tigers.

3) Will the Tigers get over the recruiting hump with top recruits?

Should I or should I not take an official visit to Auburn? That's a question elite recruits are going to ask themselves about the Tigers and several other programs while weighing which spring practices to visit.

When the Tigers do host a young man for an unofficial visit, or even communicate with him via text, direct message, or phone call, that communication must hit the mark.

It's such a fine line with making everything come together. Does each AU coach connect with a top recruit? How about his parents? What about the high school head coach?

It's amazing how often the little things make all the difference in the world. Auburn is doing a great job of getting top recruits to take unofficial visits. That trend must continue. If it does, the Tigers have a great shot to have another top-10 recruiting class.
