Auburn closed out 2023 and its non-conference slate on a high note by picking up a 79-58 over the North Alabama Lions, improving to 11-2 on the season.

This was the eighth time in a row that the Tigers stepped on the court and came away victorious.

What are the biggest takeaways from Auburn's final non-conference game of the season?

Auburn broke through from 3-point range

3-point shooting has been a struggle for Auburn so far this season but was a strength for the Tigers in this game.

Auburn shot 8-16 or 50% from beyond the arc as a team and four different Tigers made a 3-point basket.

McKenna Eddings led the way, shooting 4-5 from deep. Sydney Shaw went 2-2. JaMya Mingo-Young and Honesty Scott-Grayson both went 1-2.

Auburn had a lot of contributors offensively

Auburn had five players score in double figures.

Eddings led the way with 14 points, Mingo-Young had 13 and Kaitlyn Duhon, Scott-Grayson and Shaw all had 11 points.

If Auburn can consistently see this much of a joint offensive effort, the Tigers will be able to compete in the SEC this season.

Auburn took excellent care of the ball

Auburn only turned the ball over five times which led to only nine points for North Alabama.

Taking care of the ball is an important piece of any team's success and Auburn has continued to improve in that area throughout non-conference play.

What's Next?

Auburn will open up conference play at home inside Neville Arena when it hosts the Tennessee Volunteers on Thursday night. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. CT. The broadcast can be found on SEC Network+ or heard locally on 100.3 FM.
