Can Auburn Win The Recruitment Of The Nation's #1 Prospect?

Can the Tigers pull off the coup?

Auburn is still seeking a 2025 quarterback recruit.

One of the possible recruits to fill the signal-caller void would be Carrollton (Ga.) High School's Julian "Ju Ju" Lewis. He's familiar with Auburn with multiple unofficial visits under his belt, but the more important visit to the Plains is yet to come.

According to Adam Gorney, Lewis is set to take four official visits. Georgia (May 31), Southern California (June 7), Auburn (June 14), and Colorado (June 21). He's a coveted prospect for good reason.

In 2023, MaxPreps has Lewis with the following statistics: 186 of 280, 66.4%, 3,094 yards, 48 touchdowns, and only 2 interceptions. At 6-foot-1 and 180 pounds, Lewis is a tremendously accurate and intelligent passer. It's no surprise why Lewis is the #1 overall prospect according to Rivals.

Southern California is where Lewis is committed while Bama – where he could still take an official visit – Auburn, Georgia, and Colorado are among the teams most often mentioned giving chase. With the NCAA not limiting the number of official visits a recruit may take, a few more trips could still happen.

As for Auburn, there are likely a darkhorse in this race. That being the case, multiple unofficial visits and Lewis already setting his official visit should be considered good signs for the Tigers. Landing the #1 overall prospect in the country is a big deal and it would do a lot to change Auburn's football program for the better.
