Auburn football bowl projections: Tigers on pace to earn better bowl than expected

In this story:
The Auburn Tigers are trending towards reaching bowl eligibility.
Following a 27-13 victory over Mississippi State (Auburn's first double-digit victory over an SEC opponent since Ole Miss in 2021), Hugh Freeze and Auburn now sit at 4-4 overall. Road trips to Vanderbilt and Arkansas loom before the Tigers close out the season at home against New Mexico State and Alabama.
Auburn has to split this stretch 2-2 in order to become bowl eligible.
The Tigers found a little bit of offense at home against MSU, with quarterback Payton Thorne throwing for 230 yards and three touchdowns (his best performance against an SEC opponent).
