Payton Thorne discusses how he aims to adjust to the quarterback rotation

Payton Thorne talked about the quarterback rotation and some of the challenges that come with it.

Auburn's quarterback rotation has been a huge factor this season. 

All season, we've seen both Payton Thorne and Robby Ashford get substantial snaps with the starting offense. Thorne was asked during his media availability earlier this week about how he's adjusting to the quarterback rotation and some of the difficulties that come with it.

“I’ve never had to do that before," Thorne said. "It’s a new challenge for me. I’ve never really seen anyone else do that before, so I don’t know if there’s anything I can ask to learn from. Every time I’m in there, I’m trying to do what I’m supposed to do and do what I’m being coached to do. I’m trying to execute and make a play. You can’t get in there and try and do too much. I feel like I’ve done that. It’s just keep going in there and do what I’m supposed to do. If it’s a call to hand it off, hand it off. You can’t try and pull it and make something crazy happen. It’s new. I have never done that before, so I don’t know, really.”

Thorne later added that he believes the offense is close to clicking due to the progress they are making throughout the week. 

Thorne and the Auburn Tigers will aim for their first SEC win of the season against Mississippi State on Saturday.
