Auburn projected to a different bowl game by CBS

In this story:
After Auburn's disappointing 31-10 loss against New Mexico State this weekend, many expect the Tigers to be in the Birmingham Bowl just two hours away from campus.
CBS Sports has Auburn playing in the Texas Bowl against Kansas State. The Texas Bowl features an 8 pm CT kickoff time that will have Auburn fans staying up late on December 27th if the matchup were to happen.
Auburn last battled Kansas State on a Thursday night game in 2014 when the Tigers survived an impressive outing by Tyler Lockette of Kansas State. Auburn has won all four of the meetings between the two schools. The first two meetings were in 1978 and 1979.
I think at this rate, most Auburn fans would take any bowl that isn't played in Birmingham, Alabama. Many Auburn fans would make the trip over to Texas. Several would love a trip to Nashville to play in the Music City Bowl as well.
Of course, if Auburn is able to beat Alabama on Saturday in the Iron Bowl, this whole conversation changes. The Tigers will play their first bowl game of the Hugh Freeze era in December and their first since losing to Houston two years ago in the Birmingham Bowl.
