Auburn WR commit Malcolm Simmons announces official visit

In this story:
Malcolm Simmons will take an official visit to Auburn during the Iron Bowl according to a post on X on Tuesday.
The 2024 Auburn wide receiver commit is having a tremendous senior season at Benjamin Russell before heading to Auburn to play at the next level. He will be on campus and take an official visit when rival Alabama comes to Jordan Hare Stadium for the 2023 Iron Bowl.
Simmons committed to Hugh Freese and the Auburn Tigers during Big Cat Weekend. Simmons, Perry Thompson, and Bryce Cain are the three wide receivers in Auburn's 2024 class.
In the Auburn Daily Prospects and Evaluations list, Auburn's Daily's Brian Smith wrote the following about Simmons.
A wide receiver that separates from defenders in the open field. Simmons is a player that will add yet another layer of playmaking ability to the Tigers offense. His ability to catch the football is natural, and he's also instinctive and creative with using his vision to find the crease in the defense to create big plays. Also a possible punt return man for the Tigers.
Simmons may have a chance to play early at Auburn due to the lack of explosive plays for Auburn at wide receiver this season. Depending on how this Auburn coaching staff uses the transfer portal this offseason, all three receivers in the 2024 class could see a straight path to playing time.
