Auburn offered former Penn defensive lineman Joey Slackman

Auburn is after an FCS All-American defensive lineman in the transfer portal.

Joey Slackman is a defensive tackle who played his first few seasons of college football for the Penn Quakers of the Ivy League.

Slackman had 22 tackles last season for the Quakers and led the team in sacks with four. The six-foot-four, 300-pound defensive lineman also had four sacks in 2022, which has his career sack number at eight.

Since entering the transfer portal, Slackman has been offered by a ton of big-name programs like Michigan, Florida, USC, Washington, Miami, and, of course, the Auburn Tigers. He has already been on a visit to Florida and now has set one up in Auburn for this weekend.

Auburn didn't get a ton of pressure on the quarterback last season, and Slackman is a guy who could come in and immediately help that issue. Slackman is also a decorated wrestler, which has helped him on the football field.

He graded out at a 90.1, which was the best among all defensive linemen in FCS football last season.

If Auburn is able to land Slackman, he would be a big boost to an Auburn defensive line that is definitely a question mark heading into the offseason. Hopefully, the upcoming visit goes well, and the Tigers will be able to land a player who could start the second he walks on campus.
