The Athletic predicts Auburn will play in a familiar bowl game

According to these predictions, Auburn might not have to leave Alabama for their bowl game.

We are hitting the time of year when different publications begin to make their bowl predictions as we are past the midpoint of the college football season.

The Athletic put out their bowl predictions, which had Auburn facing off with the Tulane Green Wave in the Birmingham Bowl.

Auburn has played in the Birmingham Bowl twice, most recently in 2021 when the Tigers lost to the Houston Cougars 17-13.

The other time in the Birmingham Bowl was in 2015 when the Tigers beat Memphis 31-10.

Auburn has faced off with Tulane many times as the Green Wave was in the SEC from 1932 to 1965.

This bowl game would be a fun way to revive an old SEC rivalry.

Auburn won the last matchup with Tulane 24-6 in 2019 as Bo Nix threw for 207 yards and a touchdown.

Hopefully, if Auburn were to face off with the Green Wave in the Birmingham Bowl, the Tigers could leave with a big win that would have Auburn fans hopeful for the 2024 season.

Tulane is currently 5-1 on the season and ranked 23rd in the nation.
